Symptoms
Some of the most common symptoms associated with headaches and neck pain are:
- Changes in vision.
- Dull headache with tension in the upper portion of the shoulders.
- Neck stiffness along with nausea and/or vomiting.
- A vise-like sensation on the temples.
- Severe headache located behind just one eye.
- Confusion or loss of balance.
Causes
- Tension headaches caused by the prolonged contraction of neck muscles.
- Exertion headaches caused by poor biomechanics in the neck.
- Vertebral artery dissection or a tear in the inner lining of the vertebral artery.
